ThinkingOfAdopting.com was founded by adoptive parents who want to help you decide if adoption is right for you and support you throughout your entire adoption journey. We do so by connecting you with adoptive parents and adoption experts through adoption telcourses and webinars. Our mission is to help more people take a “leap of faith” and adopt a child by providing the information and inspiration you will need not only to adopt a child, but also to care for and love them once they are home. We call it, “Learn, Leap, Love”. Our prayer is that doing so will help more children get their forever homes.
 Thinking of Adopting was founded in 2005 by Robin Bartko who was so moved after adopting her youngest son in July, 2004 that she committed herself to do something to help others adopt. Robin is very active in the adoption community, going to adoption conferences and adoption related seminars on an ongoing basis. She is also involved daily in adoption support groups. Prior to her own adoption, she did tremendous research, speaking to experts regarding developmental, environmental, emotional, and medical challenges of adoptive children. Prior to her adoption, she had personally used four international doctors including one overseas and has spoke to many others as well. She has spoke with many adoption agencies across the United States and with numerous adoptive parents. Robin continually speaks and educates people who are considering adoption. Robin lives in Ellicott City, MD with her husband and three children. Her youngest child was adopted from overseas at the age of 21 months.
ThinkingOfAdopting.com is not an adoption agency. We provide independent information we hope will help you make the choices that are best for you and your new child. While an adoption agency will almost certainly be an invaluable partner on your adoption journey, we believe that you need to know what path you wish to take on your adoption journey before you can select an adoption agency. We want to help provide you with the information you need to understand your options so you can pick the program and agency that’s right for you -- and get the additional insight and information you need on your adoption journey -- both before and after you bring your child home.
