Dr. Alla Gordina, recently named one of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s 2006 “Angels of Adoption”, provides a great introduction to the medical aspects of international adoption, from pre-adoption medicals for parents through giardia, TB and post-adoption depression with a focus on Russian and the countries of the former Soviet Union including Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
Medical Aspects of International Adoption has two parts: a recorded presentation lasting approximately 65 minutes by Dr. Gordina that you can view and listen to over the Internet at your convenience (watch a preview), and a 90 minute live question and answer session with Dr. Gordina via teleconference (over your phone).
Are you at the beginning of your adoption journey? Adoptive mom Robin Bartko presents the “learn, leap, love” approach she used on her journey and teaches you how you can use it too. In this five session webinar Robin will give you an overview of the international adoption process including focused sessions on the process, the home study, how (and when) to select an adoption agency, and sources of international adoption information.
